City Bank reappoints Mashrur Arafin as MD

City Bank has been reappointed Mashrur Arefin as managing director and chief executive officer for another three-year term with effect from January 2022.

Mashrur Arefin's reappointment was approved by the bank's board of directors after getting the nod from Bangladesh Bank.

Aziz Al Kaiser, chairman of City bank, confirmed the reappointment, according to a press release issued by the bank. Mashrur Arefin took over the charge of the bank as MD and CEO in January 2019 for a three-year term.
Mashrur Arefin started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank as a management trainee officer in 1995. He also worked for Standard Chartered Bank, American Express Bank, Citibank NA, Brac Bank, and Eastern Bank. He worked in the banking industry for 27 years.
