Today, November 4, is the 23rd founding anniversary of Bangladesh's main daily Prothom Alo. Prothom Alo's journey started on this day in 1997.
Despite many obstacles in the past years, the Prothom-alo is still moving forward. Prothom Alo is no longer just a daily newspaper, it is now the country
The world has come to a standstill for the last two years because of the terrible Kovid. Now the darkness is slowly disappearing. Lines of light can be
seen on the horizon. Although scientists are warning, we will have to live with Corona for a long time. We are optimistic, people are not defeated, will
not be defeated, life will be won.
When we hope to bathe in the first light of the morning sun, we are reminded of those we have lost over the years. Mizanur Rahman Khan and Arun Basu,
two senior and best workers of Prothom Alo, have left us after being attacked by Kovid. Another colleague Abul Kalam Azad has passed away due to dengue.
At this time our long time friend and regular writer Syed Abul Maqsood has left us.
We lost our full-time teacher and mentor Anisuzzaman in Corona. How much I have learned from him. I lost many more. From that, it is understood how much
irreparable damage has been done to the nation by Kovid's injury. We remember the people who left us with deep respect. We look ahead with teary eyes. I say, it is dawn, the light is coming, we will walk on the path of the ideal shown to you, we will move forward.
We have lost even more in the last two years to national professors like Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, chairman of the Mathematics Olympiad Committee.
We have lost Latifur Rahman, Chairman of our Mediastar Limited Company.
We will say that the path of first light is the path shown by Professor Anisuzzaman and Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, the path of first light is
the path shown by honest, fearless personality Latifur Rahman who won Oslo Business for Peace award. I will raise the banner of their ideology and say,
we will be honest, humble and idealistic, neutral and objective, independent and courageous; Our pens will be unchained.
In the spirit of the war of liberation, we will conduct all activities with the aim of building a democratic, non-discriminatory, non-communal and
humane modern country.
Thanks for trusting Prothom Alo According to a report by the National Media Survey of Kantar, an international media research institute published in September 2021, 5 million readers
read the printed paper of the daily Prothom Alo. At least once a week, 1 crore 8 lakh readers read the printed paper of Prothom Alo.
If you add the online readers of Prothom Alo, the number will be huge. Prothom Alo.com is the most popular Bengali website in the world. The first three
websites visited from Bangladesh are Google, YouTube and Facebook. Then Prothom Alo.com is in the fourth position. In that sense, Prothom Alo is the top
Bangladeshi website. And Prothom Alo ranks 599th among all the websites in the world.
Prothom Alo is read online by more than 14 million readers from more than 210 countries and regions of the world. Every month, the page views of
Prothom Alo.com are 23-24 crore. And Prothom Alo's Facebook page has 16 million followers. Prothom Alo's Facebook page ranks ninth in the daily
newspaper category in the world and fifth in South Asia in the media category.
Looking at these statistics, we are grateful! Thank you, dear reader, we have reached this point because of you. It is because of you that we
become brave and committed to do better. Your support is the source of our strength. You are the Prothom-alo.
Obstacles come, let's go In the early days of Corona, like everyone else, we stopped. Once upon a time, Prothom Alo had to close its office and do all the work digitally.
News has been published in daily printed papers and online portals through the Home Office. 190 of our staff have been infected in Kovid.
Yet we did not stop. In the same way, the invincible fighting people of Bangladesh did not get involved in natural calamities like Corona or Ampan,
obstacles came, people overcame obstacles and moved forward; We had to pause for a moment, then again the people were on their way; Darkness has come,
but a stream of light is coming beyond the darkness.
